1. 100% Client-Side Privacy Architecture
Why your sensitive documents are completely safe with usTraditional cloud scanners upload your personal IDs, tax forms, medical records, and receipts to third-party servers for processing. This creates privacy risks, data breaches, and requires paid cloud subscriptions.
No files, thumbnails, or extracted texts are ever transmitted over the internet or stored on our servers. Once you click "Clear Local Data" in the footer, your documents are permanently wiped from your device.
2. Camera & Batch Scan Mode
Master live streaming, torch control, and multi-page captureClick "Camera Scan" in the navbar to launch the HTML5 Camera Studio. On smartphones and tablets, the studio automatically activates your high-resolution rear document camera.
- Flash / Torch Control: If you are scanning in a dimly lit room, click the Flash button in the top toolbar to illuminate your document using your device's LED flashlight.
- Flip Camera: Switch seamlessly between rear-facing and front-facing selfie cameras on mobile devices or laptops.
- Batch Scan Mode: Toggle the switch from Single to Batch Scan Mode when photographing multi-page contracts, textbooks, or notebooks. As you click the shutter, each photo is instantly collected in the Captured Batch Pages Panel below the camera viewport without interrupting your scanning flow!
- Review & Delete Blurry Shots: In the Captured Batch Pages Panel, each captured page has its own card and thumbnail. If a photo turned out blurry or tilted, click its individual button to delete it immediately before clicking Process & Save!
3. 4-Point Perspective Warp vs Box Crop
How to straighten angled photos and crop like CamScannerWhen you capture or import an image, Docs Ocr Pro opens the Interactive Document Editor. You can switch between two specialized trimming modes at the top of the editor:
4-Point Edges (Perspective Mode)
Best for photos of paper documents lying on a table or desk at an angle. Click Auto Detect Edges to let our OpenCV AI locate the 4 physical corners. Drag the numbered circles (1, 2, 3, 4) to match the corners. When you save, it applies a perspective warp matrix to un-tilt and flatten the page into a clean rectangle!
Box Crop (Cropper.js Mode)
Best for receipts, screenshots, ID cards, or already flat documents where you simply want a clean rectangular trim. Features an interactive grid box with drag handles on all 8 sides and instant 90° rotation controls.
4. Filters & Image Enhancements
Turn dark, gray photos into crisp, professional document scansIn the editor toolbar, you can apply professional CamScanner canvas algorithms in real-time to enhance legibility and whiten page backgrounds:
- Magic Color: Whitens dark paper backgrounds and boosts text contrast while preserving color stamps, signatures, and logos. Ideal for general office documents!
- B&W Document Scan: Converts the document into pure black and white pixels using thresholding. Perfect for printing fax documents or removing heavy background noise and shadows.
- Brightness & Contrast Sliders: Fine-tune the image exposure manually using the interactive sliders. If you make a mistake, click the Reset Filters button to restore the original photo instantly!
5. Offline Tesseract OCR Text Extraction
Convert scanned images into editable, searchable text in 15+ languagesWhen viewing any saved document in your library, click the "Extract OCR Text" tab. Our embedded WebAssembly Tesseract.js engine analyzes the document characters completely offline without internet!

Reorder pages, customize margins, and compress file sizesIn the document viewer, you can manage multi-page files effortlessly. Use the left () and right () arrows on each page card to reorder pages, or click Add New Page to append extra photos to your document.
PDF Export Customization:
- Page Size: Choose Standard A4 (210×297mm), US Letter (8.5×11 in), or Auto Fit to source dimensions.
- Page Margins: Add clean professional white margins around each page (No Margins, Small, or Large).
- Compression Slider: Adjust image quality from 0.3 (Maximum Compression for emailing) up to 1.0 (Lossless High-Def for printing).

Organize folders, search keywords, and manage local browser memoryYour dashboard library stores all your scanned documents locally. Keep everything organized using our interactive folder tools:
- Category Chips & Scrolling: Tag documents into folders (Work & Office, ID Cards & Passports, Receipts & Bills, Study Notes & Books, Personal). On desktops, use mouse scroll wheels, dragging, or the left/right chevron buttons to navigate the category bar!
- Real-Time Search: Type any keyword into the top search bar to instantly filter document titles or match against extracted OCR text!
- Purge All Local Data: To wipe your local library, click the storage meter in the navbar or the prominent "Clear Local Data" pill button on the left side of the footer. A safety confirmation modal will appear before wiping!
